Plagarism and Content
To begin, any content taking from another source be it wikipedia or another wiki or a website. The content author is to be given all credit unequivically and without exception. Failure to do so and a moderator finds out, your page will be deleted. This includes citing a link to the original source on your page.
Categories
Each language and subject has a main category. So the site works smoothly, at the bottom of your page you must link to the categories relevant within a note.
Type "Category: The Subject" etc
or better examples.
Category Finnish or Category Verbs
Final Product
This basically links your page to the category. So it will be listed there from now on.
Failure to do so will not result any a page deletion or anything drastic. However not doing so will waste valuable time for wiki moderators.
If you wish to create your own category. Name the page for example
Category: Verbs
If you want to start up a set of topics on a language not already included this is ideal. If you want the language on the navigation bar. You'll need to ask a moderator.
You can see a list of all Categories by typing Categories in the search bar.
Language introduction template
Try to include the introduction template for language in all pages concerning it.
Naming and Creating your Page
When creating language introductions simply use the name of the language
example Finnish
The page must have a sensical title and be relevant. Here is a list of appropriate titles they are not definite choices, just guidelines.
- Adjectives
- Articles
- Cases
- Gender
- Introduction
- Numbers
- Plural
- Pronounciation
- Pronouns
- Tone
- Verbs
- Vocabulary
Example Spanish: Vocabulary
Providing these pages are taken and you think your topic warrants it's own page. Then create a sub-topic. example Spanish: Pronounciation - Spelling Rules as an example. Just remember to link to the original topic using the category method above.
Previewing
Before you make a change to a page always preview it!
Translating into other languages
This a difficult process. We are currently accepting attempts at it though.
First of all you must organise your pages in another language. So check the language has a main page.
If it does'nt you should create it by translating the same pages name in English into your chosen language.
Example
Svenska:Huvudsida
You can then use that main page as your base.
!Warning! If there is no main categories page for your language you should create one and put this phrase within the page. module Backlinks
Put the phrase within [[*here*]]
This will mean all categories you create in the language will link to that page.
From there create categories using the same process as above. Except of course written in the language you have chosen.
If possible it would be much easier to have several language project leaders to keep things organised. If you would like to volunteer message a moderator.
Images
Images should be no bigger than 100x100. Anything above that requires special permission.
Flags such as this should be uploaded to the page of linked from elsewhere. Please if there is a common flag for a country use the external link image method to link from within the wiki.
We have a huge list of this flags attached to a page here. So if you need one just link it from this page.

Site Tags
At the bottom of the page there is an option entitled tags. You can use this to make your page be found easier by attaching tags to do with it's subject matter. Try to do this often as it makes the Wiki run that much smoother.
Edit Wars
These are strictly disallowed. If there is a disagreement over an addition. Contact a moderator.
Language introduction
Always use the language introduction template to your page. You can usually find this on the main page for the language. Edit the page and copy it.
If you want the original template it can be found on the general usage page.
Table of Contents
Always include a table of contents in your page by pressing the toc button in the edit menu. Please include it somewhere sensible in your page. Preferably at the beginning. Adding one means if you are using heading's, which you should. It will be much easier to navigate your page.
